Our App needs to collect a bit of information to serve its purpose. Specifically we collect and store the following information:
UUID: This is a software generated "Unique ID" that differentiates one submitter from another. There is nothing in the UUID that is trackable to an individual, however multiple submissions from the same phone will use the same UUID. This allows us to look at all submissions from a single submitter for troubleshooting and to find and potentially filter abuse of the system.
Camera: The app submits a photo you take of the dump site. To do this we need access to your camera.
Location: Most importantly, this app collects your location when you create a report, and submits that location to us when you submit the report. We use this to locate and clean up the trash you find.
None of this information can be tied to you as a submitter. We share this data with local agencies that are involved in the cleanup of the trash and potentially the prosecution of those that dump their garbage illegally. This may include the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Doña Ana Sheriff's Office, the City of Las Cruces, the Las Cruces Police Department, the State of New Mexico, and New Mexico State University.
NOTE: Any report you submit becomes a public record and is subject to the New Mexico Inspection of Public Record Act.
