NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING

The following will be considered at a Special Meeting of the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners to be held immediately following the 9:00 a.m. Regular Meeting of the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday, September 13, 2005, in the Doña Ana County Commission Chambers, 2nd Floor, 251 West Amador Avenue, Las Cruces, New Mexico:

Roll Call of Commission Members Present and Determination of Quorum.

COMMISSION CONVENES AS THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS IN OPEN SESSION.

  1. PRESENTATION – Reports from Doña Ana County staff and from representatives of various local charitable organizations regarding assistance activities, coordination efforts, capabilities, and plans to provide immediate and/or long-term assistance to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
  2. APPROVAL – Discussion to identify and approve one or more methods for Doña Ana County and/or its employees to provide aid to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
  3. APPROVAL – Discussion and approval of a request to the Governor and area legislators to consider a constitutional amendment to allow the use of public funds for emergencies that is currently prohibited by the anti-donation clause.
  4. APPOINTMENT – Appointment to fill the recently vacated position of Doña Ana County Probate Judge.
