COUNTY COMMISSION SEEKS TO RECOGNIZE AREA VOLUNTEERS

COUNTY COMMISSION SEEKS TO RECOGNIZE AREA VOLUNTEERS

Beginning in April, the Doña Ana County Board of Commissioners will recognize individual volunteers who make a difference in the communities where they live and work.

Volunteers chosen for recognition will be invited to come before the Commission during the first regular meeting of each month. A brief description of the volunteer’s contributions will be read into the Commission minutes by the commissioner in whose district the volunteer resides. The volunteer will then receive a framed certificate of appreciation, signed by Commission Chairwoman Dolores Saldaña-Caviness, County Manager Brian D. Haines and Doña Ana County Commission Liaison Jess C. Williams.

Volunteer nominations can be faxed to (505) 647-7329 or e-mailed to input@co.dona-ana.nm.us. Nomination letters must include the volunteer’s name, address, daytime telephone number and a brief description of the volunteer’s accomplishments and contributions. The person nominating must also provide his/her name, address, daytime telephone number and a brief paragraph about why the recognition is merited.

To the greatest extent possible, volunteers will be recognized on a rotating basis through all five Commission districts.
