DA’S OFFICE DETERMINES CHARGES FOR CARJACKING SUSPECT

The Third Judicial District Attorney’s office has determined the charges that will be filed against a suspect in a Monday carjacking incident.

Sammy Sanchez, 20, was arrested Monday in connection to a Picacho Hills Country Club-area carjacking. Investigators arrested Sanchez while he reportedly was driving a 2001 Chevrolet Suburban on Interstate Highway 10.

Sanchez faces one count of armed robbery, unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, aggravated assault with the intent to commit a violent felony, aggravated burglary with a deadly weapon and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

Magistrate Judge Anne F. Segal set a surety bond of $80,000.
