Public Input for Emergency Operations Center

  • Date: 12/14/2023 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM

Doña Ana County will build a new Emergency Operations Center on land leased from New Mexico State University and the Office of Emergency Management seeks public comment.

The new Emergency Operations Center will be located near the University Golf Course and water tanks and will house the following functions:

  • Administrative offices for the Office of Emergency Management
  • A small disaster supply warehouse
  • Coordination center for all disaster responses throughout the County, including municipalities, school districts, the University itself, and others
  • Centralized training center

Office of Emergency Management staff is looking for input from everyone who resides near the future Center site and the public may attend either of two public meetings they will host.  The "drop-in" public comment meetings will welcome residents at any time for comments and questions. They will be hosted at the Hilton Garden Inn, 2550 Don Roser Drive in Las Cruces, as follows:

  • Public Meeting #1 will begin at 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 14.
  • Public Meeting #2 will begin at 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 16.

If unable to attend, residents who wish to provide comments or ask questions about this project are encouraged to request a meeting with OEM staff or send their comments to:
