The Southern New Mexico Medical Reserve Corps (SNM MRC) is a volunteer organization comprised of community members who assist during an emergency. As part of the disaster response efforts, SNM MRC members may be called to help with pressing needs. This may include dispensing medical countermeasures, caring for first responders, and conducting patient screening, as well nonmedical help such as distributing bottled water, handing out disaster supplies, and assisting at disaster shelters.
The Doña Ana County Office of Emergency Management sponsors the Southern New Mexico Medical Reserve Corps (Unit 0553).
MRC volunteers include medical and public health professionals such as physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, veterinarians, and epidemiologists. In addition, many community members like interpreters, chaplains, office workers, retirees, legal advisors, and others fill key support positions. If you are interested in helping others, we can find a role for you in the MRC.
